Exausted!!

Went to bed at 3am woke up at 7am so I could clean up the house in Aylesbury that I was staying at and finish packing everything away...In the end it looked as if no one had stayed there actually it looked more like someone did a bit of spot cleaning as they didn't leave the house super spick and span.
Then I took 2 buses that took about 1.5hrs total to get me to St. Albans. I socialized a bit, learned the various things through out the house that needed to be done then I took a nap and woke up just before the family took off for Portugal!
I did a grocery shop came back and looked up the local library, but for once in a way I kept getting lost trying to get there and it is terribly muggy today so it was most unpleasant. Then when I got to the library they said I couldn't get a card because I needed to be staying in town for 6weeks...don't know why they wouldn't just let me lie. I am a Brit cit after all..w/e.
Funny thing in my wanderings to the library I asked several people how to get there, one was these nice young blond girls. After I asked they suddenly said "are you staying with so an so" and I thought and then said "no" but I was wrong..haha they actually knew who I was they are friends of one of the kids whose house I am at. But as I don't really know the kids and I have met waaaaay to many new people this trip names seem to get lost. I just thought it was funny to randomly run into to two people that know of me through their friend.
Well I finally got back to the house and i feel exausted and hngry but more exausted so I think I'll sleep. I am gutted I don't have my Famous Five books to read...I really got into them at the Aylesbury house because there were quite a few of them and I spent a week reading about 2 a day!
ok nap time...caio

Sleeping

Well it seems loads of people like to take vacations in July and August (what a concept right?!) So anyway I have about 2weeks of empty houses within fairly close proximity of each other, woohoo! Then on the 18th of August I am going to stay with my cousin Susie and we may go camping in Wales (fingers crossed!)

So That is nicely sorted.

Last wednesday I went to an AWESOME Korean place in soho London with an old friend. It was so great to finally see somebody I had known for so long though I didn't realize this till afterwards.

You know it was only recently England band drinking on the subway system? And here the pubs have lines just outside their pubs so loads of people spill out onto the streets after work to have a pint with co-workers and mates. Its a busy fun city but I did not have energy to go wondering around by myself though I was quite content following others around.

All in All I enjoyed London. I'm still trying to figure out where exactly I want to be on the 1st of September as I will have to travel to the airport in the evening and I'd like to pick somewhere some what convient w/ out a lot of changing busses and such :D..we'll see. not much of interest..couldn't figure out how to work the dryer seperate from the washing machine so my clothes are laid about the living room to dry and a policeman just came in...bit embaressing but oh well. haha. O the policeman came b/c my cousin had reported that he found a mt bike and put it in the back yard so I let the policeman into the backyard where there were two black mt bikes so he deiced he'd call back later. haha. oh well.

Outrage!! and some good news

I have my ticket to Pisa!!! YAY!!! I fly out September 2nd from Stanstead in London at 6:30am! As this means I need to be at the airport by 4;30 and public transport doesn't start running that early I am going to check in the night b/4 and sleep at the airport woohoo! haha that was slightly sarcastic.
Anyhow the outrage....
So I went into town last night with this bloke who is also staying at the house..my Great Uncles wife's grandson..haha so no relation to me as this wife is not the one I was related to. Any how you don't need to hear about my complicated family tree. So Stephan and I went out and we started by going into a fairly easy going looking pub. It was a bit quietish but we enjoyed our selves. Then we decided to hed up the road to a more American type bar place (It was cramped, seedier looking, and noisy :) ). As we were walking along the road I spied a young woman with her knees to her chest crying I couldn't leave her so I went up and asked if she was ok..then ensues her story. She told me she had gone in to buy some food from a place and when she placed her stuff (pretty much everything she owned..a sleeping bag, a little pillow, and all of her money 50quid (gbp) )down and turned to put some extra things on her sandwich someone nicked her bag. Also in her bag was a badge and photo idea which licensed her to be a vendor of a magazine which she was selling to make some money. So now she has to find 8quid to replace the badge and she is freezing. I gave her 5 quid coz that was what I had and as my friend and I are standing there three young lads (about 12) came along on bikes, they had gone off to buy her a blanket.
My friend and I carried on our way but I couldn't stop thinking about her so I let my friend go into the pub and I popped back to the atm to grab some more money. I went back and gave her a tenner...she was so very grateful and told me she was hoping to get 25quid to stay in a hostel so I gave her my other tenner. She was over joyed at my kindness and I was curious. So I asked her her story.
Why is she homeless?
Well she had be shunted from foster care to foster care when she was little and at 16 she found her mum and started living with her unfortunately last august her mum died of complications with her lungs. Because she had not been on the lease at least 6mo prior to her mum dying she had 28 days to bugger off. Because her mum had been ill she had not had a job, though she use to be a hair dresser. Now she is homeless but perfectly capable of working, so why not get a job? Because all jobs require you give a valid home address...ok so get an address o wait you need a job to be able to afford to have one of them. AND here is the fuckin kicker coz she isn't a junkie or alcoholic the city doesn't have a program to help her or so many other cases just like hers.
After I finished talking to her I went and talked to my friend Stephan about it. He said a lot of times homeless people are the most genuine people you know. I spent so much time just feeling anxious when I was pressured by the homeless in Cali I didn't stop to talk to them. This is an outrage and absolutely ridiculous there needs to be a program that can provide temporary housing to those not on drugs or alcohol and that will help these homeless get jobs. For goodness sake people complain enough about people on the street so bloody do something about it!!!!

Plans...ish

So I took a long bus ride from Carlisle to Oxford yesterday. All in all I thought it quite pleasant. Heavy rain, some fancy lightening, reading rubbish magazines, and eating tasty sandwhich's. Now I am n Oxfrord and today I'm going to walk into town, actually the hope is I walk to town everyday as round trip it'll give me a six mile journey and that is pretty satisfactory excercise.

Anyhow as my England news isn't terribly interesting as I am not meeting random strangers that give me thier house for five weeks or ny such crazyness as that I'll move onto something possibly slightly more thrilling. Haha so I have mentioned I'm bumming round England but only till September. On September 3rd ish I am going back to Pisa Italy where I will learn the art of flower arranging from Dario a friend of the fellow I was working with before. Dario does arrangements for weddings and such so I'll learn something new and interesting :). I will be staying in an apartment owned by his parents that is just a few blocks away from the beach. All in all I'm very excited about being back in Italy and learning something new!

Hopefully this was slightly riviting talk to you later folks. ;)

Couch Surfing

It seems as of July 18th I've got no where to stay :(....So I'm going to venture onto this Couch surfing thing and move about London for about a month. Hopefully I can leave most of my luggage with a friend because otherwise its going to be near impossible to move every few days!!

So Monday the 29th of June I had a ticket on a bus to Carlisle at 2:05 leaving from Preston bus station. So I got to Preston bus station with 40min min to spare!! Another old lady sat next to me, she was also going to Carlisle. We chatted a bit then her bus came at 1:55p. Now I thought it was a bit odd that there would be two buses ten minuets apart from eachother to Carlisle...hmmm. well 2:05p came and went and no bus. So I went into the office and the lady said "o you were suppose to be here at 2 this morning. The 1:55p was the last bus" :0! "your only option is to go to the bus station" again :0!! The bus station was on the bloody otherside of Preston! A good 20min walk on a hot day wth 100lbs of luggage! I shit you not this was RIDICULOUS!! Well I had no choice so I started walking and about an hour later I was on a trai to Carlisle. Fortunetly the train was faster than a bus so the hour wasted was made up by the speedyness of the train!!
Anyhow my Great Uncle Peter picked me up from the station with his wife Barbara and we went back to there lovely little cottage (which is called Tilly Cottage btw) on the sea side in Allonby!

Well have to run. Catching a bus to cockermouth. There is a festival going on today and so far no rain!! Though they expect heavy showers...but all I see is sun hmmm

plans...ahhhh

Right so I've cleared things up thankfully!

So staying with my uncle mark this week, then I'll be at my aunty Barbs for a couple of nights then My Uncle Peter will pick me up at Barbs and take me with him to his lovely cottage in the Lake District. His wife Barbara will be singing up there. Then I'll travel with him back to his home in Oxford.

I'm going to try and make some contacts and possibly get an under the table job if I can. Otherwise just make contacts so I'm better equipped for getting a job come septemberish...whenever my passport arrives really :D. hopefully no gliches with getting my passport..the lady at the British Embassy in DC seemed to think it was all stright forward so hopefully that is so!

Otherwise it looks like im just on vacation time till my passport comes...mind you limited vacation time as I've barely got any money. which is fine...I don't mind a challenge. Anyhow I'm really enjoying it all and I've not started missing Cali..yet any how.

Still I send my love out to all those I've left!!

Ta for now :D

Entropy

Well Well Wednesday I quit my job and by Thursday evening I had got a plane ticket back to England and Friday early morning it was good bye Sardgenea....sigh. so to explain

Once we got to Sardegenea everything was free flowing and too much for my liking. I was told I was to be responsible of cooking and cleaning so as to give Ron and Geppe more time to work..alright makes sense. The first week little Gaia was with us. but I didn't have much to do with her as she was aloud to do what she pleased as there were lots of activites for her to do and the resort was very safe. Occasionally Id play with her when she decided she liked me.

Then she left and the plan I proposed was to learn Scuba Diving in the morning and then come back and make lunch for the lot and then go to the office. Alright makes sense. Day one of this plan complaint coz lunch was too late...umm ok we never had an offcial time the week before in fact we'd eaten much later but anyhow ok. So 1pm lunch tomorrow got it. I got it ready and by 1:40 they hadn't showed so I went looking for him. Found him chatting with some friends. Right I had eaten so i figured id visit with a friend for a mo whilst i waited for him to finish eating so i could clean dish's. By the time I got to the office he was all upset Id been visiting and i tried to understand what he wanted me to do and then he went on how the food wasn't that important and as long as I prepare it then it doesnt matter when they eat. But I then if the dish's arent clean I can't make dinner. So i was very confused about it all so I said right then I want to go home. And I did.

But the closest airport (Olbia) only had cheap flights to Birmingham about 1.5hrs outside of where my family is except for my Uncle Peter. corse when I arrived at the Airport I couldn't get through to him and my cousin and his Fiance came to my rescue and picked me up.

Then we went out to watch the new Transformers movie. It was long and didnt have much of a plot but it was nice to watch a film. Then I crashed out at my cousins and slept straight through to 10:30am. It was lovely. Then I spent all day out in Manchester with Krissy and a couple of her mates and we had a lovely time shopping (well I looked but didnt buy) then I went off to the pub with Lee and some of my other mates and Krissy and the others were having a girly night in before work the next day.

Needless to say once I started drinking double vokda and cranberry by the end of the night I couldn't remember a thing. oops. bit much I suppose o well :).

Today I'm working figuring out what the hec Im going to do seeing as I have no British id so I cant get a job legally anyway. So that puts me in a bit of a pinch. So we'll see. But I'm really glad im not in that job b/c when I got back I realized how stressed the situation was making me. A couple days before I left and since Ive been here Ive been stress eating like mad. Cheese cake, steak, chocolate, etc haha. Im just letting it go and my body shall right its self if it doesn't in a week or so then I'll step in ;). But that is my life thus far. Not even been gone a month yet. Ahh well.

Sardegnea

Well I arrived here at the camp almost a week ago. Not too much has happened work wise because we actually Ron and Guiseppe are setting everything up so they have not been able to teach me things thus giving me work to do. So Ive been twiddling my fingers a lot and playing with Gaia the toddler a bit. But she is a bit funny and is back and forth on weather or not she actually likes me. oh well.

Much more interesting life here at camp gets fun in the evening. There is a bar with a fantastic bar tender who is very cute...mmm hehe. And at 9:30 another cute lad named Marchello starts playing guitar (which he said he would teach me ;) ) and singing for a couple of hours. so usually that is where I am. Hanging out with all the other staff memebers. I have made friends with most of the people who work here and Ive picked up quite a few Itlian words..and not just swears. hahaha.

Currently to occupy my time Ive been assesing the men that work here to see which one can give me a bit of company and fun while im here. So far Im going with the singer...he has also produced a couple of albums ;)..but currently he is occupied with one of the guests...but she leaves tomorrow :P hehe....

Weather here is fantastic. Sunny and warm and windy so basically you are never cold and never hot. The water is lovely and cool but not Cali cold..you can actually swim in it. haha. Im also going to get scuba certified. looks like ill get my beginning certification this weekend. then ill move on to open water certification then advanced open water..then i can dive near ship wrecks and go down 100ft and see huge 40yr old fish..haha soooooo cool!!!!!

Well dinner now CAIO!

Finally an interesting update

The week in England was great. I spent a lot of time with my cosuin chris's mates. We went clubbing in Bolton on Saturday and I danced my ass off with Lee which was so much fun. It was the first time I felt really confident and didnt care what other people were thinking. Sunday we had a barbie (bbq) at my aunties house..as in I invited my mates over and my aunty was super cool and left us the house. After the barbie we went to a pub. We being Marc, Lee, Matt, Ben and I. We were joined by Sophie (Bens lovely G/F), Chris (my cousin) and Krissy(his fiance). I got a bit sloshed but not to bad. Then monday I saw this realllly cute puppy (see pic on my FB page) which belongs to my friend Lee. its a laberdoodle. haha. Then Tue and Thur Lee and I kicked it in Manchester. Just wondered around. The whole week I was there it was sunny and 80F. really fantastic.

Ok so Italia. I left Thursday evening (round 8:30p over here) and had a bumpy landing into Bergamno. Worst turbulence ever! Like we literally just dropped a good five feet or so...bit harrowing for my tastes but we landed saftely otherwise. I found Ron and he took me to Cita Altta. Wow it looks like a movie set. Its a rennisance town high up on a hill in Bergamo. It was about 11pm at this point but people were wondering around or sitting at table eating or drinking. Not too much was open but there was some activity. We took a nice 45min or so walk then headed to the motel. Woke up at 8 had some breakfast (hot crossiant) then headed to Lake Como. Como was pretty and full of these narrow zig zagging streets and houses asending the hillside with red terrcotta roofing. All surronding a large lake. We looked at the church first then the villa and eventurally headed to the hotel where the bride was getting ready. The videographer left ahead of us and took our car keys so we took the boat with the groom and some guests. Ron took a bunch of photos then waited at the dock for the bride to arrive with her mother and brides maids. Then an hr or so long ceramony in Italian some pictures outside where it started to drizzle then the guests piled into vans to get to the house. While Ron and I got to ride what looked like a beautiful motorized wooden gondola with the bride and groom to the villa built by her grandfather. I got to eat yummy food and sleep on the couch for two hours. we were working from about 10am to 2am. when we finally got back to the car we had a 4hr drive to Pisa which took longer b/c ron and the Videographer had to stop and sleep and witch off. I slept the whole way. 7am we arrive in Pisa and we are heading to Rons friends house in Porta Lucca. But when I awoke Ron was driving slightly off corse so my first sight of Pisa was a big huge wall and arch way and the Tower of Pisa..soo cool. I then went back to bed for 4hrs and woke up to some breakfast. We are no on to today being saturday. I walked over to the Tower and wondered around below for a bit then walked up the tower and walked back to the house. where I napped a bit then got up and had dinner. BTW the ice cream (Gealto) here is soo good. like strawberry tastes like real strawberries and chocolate tastes so rich and chocolaty def better than that american stuff. Anyhow I leave for Sardgenea on monday and will be there for three months. I go to Austria in July to see my nephew play soccer and then after the summer looks like Ill be helping to get internet/tv and telephone services to Cameroon Africa. hopefully this means a trip to Africa even though home base will be in Europe. Woo thats a lot.

Yes this was a post to a particular person but it came out so much better than when I was trying to post on here b4 so anyway enjoy!! Hopefully Ill get photos up soon.

Caio!

Italy and terror

Hello all...I'm setting off for Italy in a few hours 8:35 over here and 12:35 in Cali. Anyhow I'm sure all will go I'm staying a night in my own hotel room in Bergamo then off to Pisa till Sunday or monday then off to Sardegna.

I've had a lot of night mares do to the extreme amount of worry I'm recieving and the lack of excitment..not a great combination but I'm pleased so many people care. Anywhoo all that has somewhat forced me to put on a brave face and this morning I realized how stressed out I really am and how scared so I burst into tears. No worries I'm currently with a wonderful friend and a very cute puppy so that ought to help.

I'm heading into Manchester for a bit of a wonder and some fish and chips and a pint of Laeger. Should be yummy!! Then I've got to get to the airport. I've managed to pack for three months in the tinest duffle ever bc european carry on sizes on tiny tim. I've also packed very demurly so as to avoid any nasty Italian men rubbing up on me...or at least the ones that are nasty. I've herd Italian people can also be quite friendly. Well its a big enough country I expect its a mixed bag really so we'll see.

Anyhow at some point I will post pictures and I will right more hopefully. I'm not bringing my computer or I-pod with as I don't feel it is safe enough to do so. Well I've got lots of plans and ideas and I'm really proud of myself I really feel my confidence growing and that I'm turning a corner. So I'm pretty happy if not a bit terrified.

Well Ta for now *MUWAH*

Insanity and goodbye

Hello fellow readers, so glad you've decided to be updated on my adventures abroad. Right now I'm exhausted from driving all around and trying to cram in a bunch of Sacramento goodbyes all in one day. So far so good. Today is the day I officially got the news and go ahead to let the ball start rolling on all my plans. I am Flying out to Manchester England next Wednesday. I'll arrive England the next day and I'll hang around and chill with family and friends but only for a week :(...Then its off to Italy!. Yes alas I must spend three months in Italy assisting professional photographer in the entirety of his business...Yes I'm being sarcastic because that is going to be the best thing ever! Ask and you shall receive...well I asked and I got more and I'm stoked. So far though the reality and immensity of what I'm doing hasn't properly sunk in. It'll be a sad day tomorrow as I pack the entirety of my apartment up (aside from a few large items) and throw it into my car and drive it all to the bay. Sad why? Because I'll be doing this with my best friend Stormy and after all the work is said and done we'll have a last supper together and I know I'll start to bawl...I've known this girl since the third grade and this last year she has been my saving grace, who knows what would have happened if I hadn't had her by my side all these months. She has done everything for me...so I'm selling her my lil rocket at a hell of a price as a big fat thank you for everything. By lil rocket I mean my car...get your mind outta the gutter! My car is offended you thought such a thing and she is very proud of her name! I just had a conversation with her, even though the official goodbye isn't till tomorrow I had to make sure she'll treat Stormy right and not cause trouble. Not that I could think my lil reliable Honda could ever do such a thing but I'm going far far away with no idea of when I shall return....Well I'm exhausted and heading to a near y apartment to watch a movie...I probably wont make it through and I'd rather go to bed, but goodbyes must be said especially to all those who have been so wonderful to me! This will get more interesting once I'm in Europe...I swear! haha. TTFN.
